Children’s author Cynthia Storrs Cotten, of Lockport, will launch her newest book, Window Across Time, with a book signing event at the Art & Soul Gift shop.
Spanning almost two centuries, Window Across Time consists of eight stories linked together by a cobblestone house in a small New York canal town. Through the eyes of the young people who live there, readers get a look inside (or a window to) both large and small moments in the history of the house, Western New York, and the United States.
Cotten, who was born and raised in Lockport, has recently moved back after having been away for most of her adult life. She holds a master’s degree in writing for children and young adults from Vermont College, and is a member of the Society of Children’s Bookwriters and Illustrators, the Authors Guild, and the Children’s Book Guild of Washington, DC.
She has authored nine books for young people, including The Book Boat’s In, an Erie Canal story that was recently named to the prestigious Bank Street College of Education’s “Best Books for Children” list for 2014.
