Dennis
Steierer is a self-taught photographer whose career
has spanned thirty-five years. His subject matter has included
rodeos, fashion photography, opera and nature. His work has appeared
in National Geographic magazine, has been exhibited nationally
and is included in many permanent collections. He is a two term
past artist of the Buffalo Artists Society.
Dennis also enjoys making what are known as "painterly photographs" in
which Polaroid film is manipulated while still being processed. Using
tools such as toothpick or a popsicle stick the photo is altered to created
flowing lines or blurred objects resulting in a work that is as unique
to the photographer as a painting is to a painter. This form of art is
slowly dying with the advent of the digital age and the gradual discontinuation
of Polaroid films.

James
Kipfer has been taking photos since the age of seven
when he borrowed his parents Hawkeye Browning for a Cub Scout
Meeting. A few years after graduating he was introduced to
the works of Ansel Adams which, says James, "opened my
eyes to the fact the black and white photography can be a wonderfully
artistic way to express myself."
James has been exhibiting for over ten years. He won first place in the
Lewiston Art Festival the first time he entered and has won several times
since then. He currently lives in Racine, Wisconsin where he is a member
of the Racine Art Center Cooperative.
