It
is tempting to see Niagara County's history primarily through
the Erie Canal and the Locks, especially in light of revived
tourism and economic interest. However, there is much more to
this area's history!
"This
show," says Sally Bisher, director for the Market Street
Art Center, "shines a spotlight on those treasures of
our area that people tend to overlook." Doug Farley, Development
Director of the Niagara County Historical Society says, "this
is a wonderful opportunity to look at our county in a new way
and appreciate the lesser known, yet beautiful and interesting
aspects of the county we call home."
Some
works will also be on display at the Niagara County Historical
Society, located at 215 Niagara Street in Lockport.
