"The
Suspended Moment," a
photography show featured the works of eighteen local
artists.
This
is our first multi-artist photography only show," said
Sally Bisher, director of the art center. "We have had
one and two man shows before but with the advent of digital
photography, more and more people are exploring it as a means
of expression. With this show we seek to bring to the public's
attention the growing amount of local talent."
Awards
for first, second and third place were presented during the
opening reception. First place was awarded to Sam
Vacanti for his untitled photo (see photo
above), second place went to "Sunset Walk, Golden Hill
State Park," by Cynthia Jozwik-Burge. Third place was
awarded to Robert Rimmer for his work titled "Peaks and
Stacks." An Honorable Mention went to "Niagara Falls,
American Falls Rainbow," by Dean Hueber.
Entries
were judged by Dennis Stierer. Stierer, a two term
past president of the Buffalo Society of Artists, is a self
taught photographer whose career has spanned over thirty-five
years. His work has appeared in National Geographic Magazine
and has been exhibited nationally.
