"The
Student/Teacher Show," features works from artists associated
with the Art Center, and their students. "The Art Center
host classes for both children and adults," says Joseph
Buczkowski, Executive Director of the Center, "and many
of our members teach art. With this show we hope to showcase
not just the talent of our members but the emerging talent
they are helping to cultivate."

There
are over thirty entrants to the show representing a wide
range of media and subject matter. One entrant appears
as both a student and a teacher. Tammy Gawley, of North
Tonawanda, shares a studio at the art center with her mother,
Cynthia Gawley. Tammy, a senior at Daemen College, takes
art lessons from Karl Heerdt and in turn teaches children's
art classes at the center. Karl, Tammy and some of her
students are all entrants. |

"Art
is not static and the artist never really stops learning," says
Sally Bisher, the Art Center's Assistant Executive Director.
The student, in time, becomes a master but the master never
really stops being a student. Tammy represents that."
Opening
Reception was Saturday April 12.
